What is NFSMI FUNDamentals?
  NFSMI Fundamentals is a computerized financial management information system that will assist school foodservice administrators in analyzing and interpreting the financial outcomes of their operation so they can make better financial decisions. It will also allow administrators to compare their operation with other similar operations.  

Hardware Requirements
  Before installing the NFSMI FUNDamental software, please verify your computer system meets the following requirements:
  • Operating System
    • Windows 2000 Professional SP4
    • Windows XP Professional SP2 (32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Windows Vista (All Versions 32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Windows 7 (All Versions 32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Windows Server 2000
    • Windows Server 2003 (32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Windows Server 2008 (32 bit or 64 bit)
  • Hard Drive space: 30MB of free hard disk space
  • RAM: (Same as Minimum Operating System Requirements)
  • Super VGA monitor (with the screen resolution set to at least 800 x 600 and the depth set to True Color)
  

How do I obtain the NFSMI FUNDamentals software?
 

The software can be downloaded (below). The software downloaded from the web does not require a CD-ROM drive. A step-by-step Users Guide is available for download from the web site (below).

The NFSMI FUNDamentals web download is currently 47MB in size. A T1 connection will allow users to download the software in less than 5 minutes. Contact your district technology director for more information about a T1 connection in your school district.

We do not recommend a download by dial-up modem.

How do I install the NFSMI FUNDamentals software?

You will be prompted to fill out a form with your contact information. Complete the form and click the Submit button. Next click the NFSMI FUNDamentals Full Installation link. Save the file to your computer (usually on your desktop or in the MyDocuments folder)

Locate and Double click the FUNDamentals.exe upon the completion of the download process. The installation process will instruct users with any additional requirements for the installation completion.

The software is password protected for installation. The password is: 7277233FULL

Registration Code:

After the installation is complete, users will be prompted for an NFSMI Registration code, contact Visual Solutions at 1-888-228-3120 for the registration code.

After the software is installed, a step-by-step User's Guide can be found at C:\FUNDamentals\UsersGuide.pdf. This file is in the Adobe Acrobat format and requires Acrobat Reader (at least version 3.5) to view/print. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, it is available free of charge at www.adobe.com.
