Copy Inventory Base File Utility

The Copy Inventory Base File Utility allows for quick and easy management of inventory base files for schools by allowing users to copy any inventory base file to selected sites. The Auto-Select Based on Inventory Base Group Affiliation check box does just what it's name implies.

Setting up and maintaining Inventory Base Files is one of the most important and common functions of using the software. In practice, the procedure follows these steps:

  1. Pick one school's base file to work with and configure item visibility by checking (hiding) or unchecking (unhiding) the Inactive flag for each item.
  2. Adjust any shelf unit configuration as needed and Update.
  3. Open the Copy Inventory Base File screen and select the school from Step 1 in the Copy From list box. Allow the program to suggest the Copy To sites based on their Inventory Base Group Affiliation. Also, select one school from the other remaining Inventory Base File Groups and click the Copy button.
  4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 until all school's inventory base files have been updated.
